Size

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog that counts.

Fights 4 & 5

SASCA Warriors' Dojo

Win by armbar and rear-naked choke

I started training with Undisputed fight club in Pretoria and this was my first fight representing them.

In the first fight I fought a powerful striker, Tumisang "The President" Madiba and all I could do in the beginning was absorb his blows and throw some of my hardest straight punches. In the first round he really tired himself out.

In the second round I sped up my footwork and avoided almost all of his blows. I got a good take down, landed knee strikes to his ribs on the ground and then got full mount. I worked ground and pound and then got him in a tight armbar.

In the second round the knee that he landed cracked my sternum, although I didn't realise it until the following day.

There was a fighter there in my weight category who wanted to fight but the organisers couldn't find him a match. The judges asked if I wanted to fight him and I jumped at the chance. So I fought two fights that night.

His name is Martin Joubert, from Chivalry Bloodsport.

Martin got a good take down early on  had me in a corner of the cage. I blocked his punches and then managed to stand up and bump him off me. He still had a hold of me around my neck so I feinted to the left, slipped under his arm on my right and jumped on his back. I got my hooks in but I couldn't sink the rear-naked choke. He was standing with me still on his back. He jumped up and slammed me backwards onto the floor, this was just what I needed to sink the rear-naked choke and he tapped.
